Is the time coming when we shall be, but servants of our government? Is this what our founders wanted for us? I think not. To take a line from Thomas Jefferson:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
As our political season is upon us, once again we hear of persons who would lead us if we let them, down a dark and endless path to servitude in all manners except word. One would take us back to the good old days of confiscatory taxation in order to defeat a scourge that is upon us of “climate change”. The result will not be as intended, for climate change has been with us since the beginning of time. This person would also caution us to not have children in such a serious and difficult time. I wonder what the founders would say about our serious and difficult time, is it to be compared to the Revolution and the 25,000 that died there or maybe they should have shunned children during the civil war where 625,000 died. No, this kind of thinking is so elementary in thought that it should be ridiculed as ignorant at the least from the start. But no there are people who whole heartily march with this thought to tell us how we should vote for them to lead us. When questioned how we will pay for this new enlightenment that they have brought us we are told that is the wrong question. We should instead trust them because it is the results on the investment we are told. Of course, the fact we will all be dead and them too before any results, if they be, are recognized is of no worry.
Then the other day the House majority defeated a bill that, in essence, said that a child that survives abortion would be given all life-saving treatment. Does this mean they support infanticide? Sure, sounds like it. We do know that they consider children not born yet to be less than human and can be disposed of how they see fit.
Can you seriously give any credence of morality to such a person? Because that same person says it is immoral to build a wall to protect our borders, but they have walls around their houses to protect them. That same person has voted for money to build walls around other country’s borders, just not ours.
And now they want to pass a back-door registration scheme on guns and call it a background check. Of course, they deny it. But hey, you know what that same person told us about health care, If you want to know what’s in it, we need to pass it first. OH, and make it law so all your complaining will be worthless.
I guess the jokes on us.
